About Annabel Annabel Bosher is the only daughter and youngest child of Mary and Paul Hunnings. This year she celebrates 10 years working with her mother on their ever popular product range Mary Berry & Daughter Salad Dressings and Sauces. The working relationship actually started years earlier when Annabel was only four and appeared on the cover of Mary’s book “Good Afternoon”. A year later in 1976, Annabel hit the screens when she first appeared on Mary’s TV programme for Thames TV. For the next eight years Annabel appeared with her mother regularly on TV and radio programmes, at food demonstrations and was the chief taster for ice cream and cakes for all of Mary’s books! Like Mary, Annabel has an immense passion for food and subsequently went on to gain an advanced Cordon Bleu certificate. From a young age Annabel has always been entrepreneurial; when she was living in Bali she set up her own fashion label Venus Rising. Then in 1990, at the age of 19 she started a company, Cosmic Candles, with the help of a grant from the Princes Trust. It was in the early 90s, when Annabel was still running Cosmic Candles, that she put a proposition to her mother about setting up a business; to sell Mary’s Salad Dressing, which had been a family favourite for many years. Armed with just £100, Annabel made up the first batch, bought some bottles, designed the labels and initially started selling the Dressing at shows, festivals and Mary’s Aga Workshops. In 1994 Mary Berry & Daughter Dressings and Sauces was established and today there are now nine products in the range. When Annabel is not working, she finds time for one of her other passions: travelling. Across the globe, she has worked on a fishing trawler in Australia, had the privilege of meeting the Dalai Lama, diving in the Galapagos and trekking in the Amazon Rainforest, working in a restaurant in Goa, even finding time for some romance - she got engaged to Dan in Kenya. They married in 2002. Click here to read the latest interview with Annabel |
